Salmon Jerky

There's quite often some rather odd things to be found at your local Asian grocery, even for someone who know about pork floss, and dried cuttlefish, and other random things.  So, when I saw salmon jerky (brought to you by I Love Sushi) at one of the Asian groceries we go to, I figured it would be fun to pick up some to let Lumpy (the jerky connoisseur!) try it out.

Anyways, Lumpy ended up sampling the Black Pepper Salmon Jerky:

He did try to be polite about it, but really, it was not a taste sensation that he would ever be willing to repeat.

Here's a shot of the insides of the non black pepper salmon jerky:

Salmon Jerky, inside the package

It smelled quite ... fishy, which I guess is to be expected, seeing as it is FISH jerky, and you can see sesame seeds stuck to the outside.  I don't have the full ingredient list, but it did involve soy sauce, oyster sauce, and some other stuff.  Can't find the list of ingredients on the website, but it does tell me that this is an Australian product, produced from Tasmanian salmon.  The packaging did advise that once opened, the contents should be consumed within three days, but I couldn't bring myself to taste it though ...  I'm sure there are people who must like this, or else the product wouldn't exist!   They can't all be like me and buy weird stuff just because, right?
